A favorite of CSA members (and Emily!), the Caitlin's Joy variety of dahlia features a range of colors shifting from pink to peach, with some blooms throwing in white streaks later in the season. Next to Cornel and Cornel Bronze, this is one of our best beginner dahlias and also one of our most prolific bloomers. Super long, strong stems make cutting and arranging this dahlia a dream! This listing is for a single dahlia tuber.
Eyes are the vegetative growing points of the tuber. The body of the tuber provides the dahlia with nutrition and energy to grow. Dahlia tubers are visually inspected for eyes before shipping—each tuber will have at least one visible eye. Eyes may sometimes break off in transit, but new growth will come from where the eye was previously.
Each order will arrive with instructions on growing your dahlia tubers. Dahlias prefer full sun, which means 6-8+ hours of sunlight per day. Hold off on watering your tuber until you see it sprout above ground. Each tuber needs approximately 2 square feet of growing space. Dahlias like well-draining soil, so don’t plant them in soil that is too wet. We recommend staking this variety of dahlia.
